Geraldene Blackgoat joins the Prospera Partners team with a passion for authentic community engagement, having led a multitude of projects to ensure they include the voices and values of the people they impact. Born and raised on the Navajo Nation, she is Todích’íí’nii and born for Naaneesht’ezhí Táchii’nii. At Prospera Partners she supports the Prospera team and our clients as an associate facilitator and consultant.

As an architectural designer, her work has involved soliciting, gathering, and interpreting feedback and data from interviews, site visits, focus groups, and communities of practice to make projects more socially responsible and community informed. She has worked in a variety of areas including tribal community engagement, community engagement in rural and urban communities, community and site planning, and architectural design in areas including community facilities, trauma-informed spaces, housing, K-12 schools, and higher education schools.

When not strategizing and facilitating to assist clients at Prospera Partners, Blackgoat oversees her company Blackgoat Design Co. to provide design consulting services that elevate culturally responsive and community-based design in the built environment. She also serves as an adjunct lecturer at the University of New Mexico School of Architecture + Planning. Geraldene is excited to bring her background and expertise in community engagement and design thinking to the Prospera Team.
