Learn how to embody your work through the transformational leadership model.
This moment has called for our collective resilience. Understanding the complexity and longevity of systems of oppression (and privilege) has demanded we cultivate intentional containers to dig into this messy work. We will be fostering resilience by confronting uncomfortable conversation in a compassionate and supportive environment.
This series will be structured around a transformational leadership model, starting with the “I” to better understand “We,” our communities, and ultimately inform “It” our work.
Working together over the course of 6 bi-weekly sessions we are cultivating a community of practice. Read more about why we’re creating BIG circles in Rae’s latest blog post.
These sessions are open to all individuals interested in strengthening their ability to engage in social impact work. They will be facilitated by Rae Miller of Prospera Partners based in Oakland, CA, along with Christen Collins, a social practice artist based in Cincinnati, OH.
We anticipate these sessions will fill up quickly as we are intentionally keeping them to smaller groups.
Miller believes in work that provides tangible solutions to our most pressing problems and establishes systems for collaborative growth moving forward. Rae creates programming and oversees logistics for Prospera Partners. Rae brings compassion, an eye for detail and systems thinking to her work. She is motivated by a commitment to human-centered systems and community-centered leadership. Her background in urban planning paired with an MBA leaves her uniquely qualified to understand diverse stakeholder needs, mediation strategies, and long-range planning. A decade of professional experience in the nonprofit sector informs her work, as well, where she has worked on many sides of a non profit from supporting business development for an international reaching NGO, to developing marketing and managing fiscal reporting for a health and human services agency, to membership management and event logistics for an impact investment centered philanthropic organization.
Christen Collins is a Cincinnati, OH based artist that is on the pursuit of social practice through self-expression and art making. She is a student of life with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Art Academy of Cincinnati and is currently an Instructor in their Community Education Department where she is always collaborating on new and engaging projects that can be shared and explored in a variety of different ways. With the intention to bring more creativity to the people, she writes an art blog for Everything Cincy and loves to cultivate artist experiences for others. Her main focus is stepping more into her role as an artist, in an effort to help influence positive change and growth.
Christen is an alumna of Prospera Partner’s BIG: How to Stand Up When You’re Figuring Out What You Stand For workshop. Read how that workshop impacted her in this Q and A on our blog.
